The countdown has the wrong number of days

We've spent a lot of time making sure the countdown is correct for wherever you are in the world and whatever event you are counting to, but we get a lot of messages asking why the number of days is wrong (normally by 1 day).

If the event is a date or holiday that is a whole day, like Christmas Day or Halloween, there are 2 ways to count .. In whole days OR in less than whole days (i.e. days and hours or days, hours, minutes and seconds).

The default countdown is for "days, hours minutes and seconds".  When counting down in this way then the countdown is the total time to the start of the day (or midnight) in your time zone.  This is the precise time to the day.

If you want to countdown in just whole days then the countdown will be less precise, but this is how most people perceive the number of days.

For instance, say it's 1:30PM now, then from now until tomorrow is "0 days, 10 hours and 30 minutes" away .. but in whole days, you might say it's 1 day away.

You can see the countdown in either format.
